Narrative Photography for Commerce
Airbnb asked me to photograph a marketing event in Los Angeles which centered around Salsa dancing. They wanted a photographer with photojournalist skills to characterize the energy, movement and beauty of the dancing. After initially shooting the event as I would normally, I began shooting only with one lens with a shallow depth of field and looking for real emotional moments.
Growing up in the business as photojournalist really helps me find and anticipate moments and being a commercial photographer gives me skills that help me deliver a refined photography projects to my clients. I love gathering images that tell a story with a mood or feeling because the pursuit of beauty is what motivates me.
I enjoy working with art directors to create images and look forward to my next narrative photography projects.
